Dogs Deserve Better - No Chained Dogs!

Life has no limitations, except the ones you make.....

What is a Title?

Not just a brag, not just a stepping stone to a higher title, not just an adjunct to competitive scores, a title is a tribute to the dog that bears it, a way to honor the dog, an ultimate memorial. It will remain in the record and in the memory, for about as long as anything in the world can remain. And though the dog her/himself doesn't know or care that her/his achievements have been noted, a title says many things in the world of humans where such things count.

A title says your dog was intelligent, adaptable, and good natured. It says that your dog loved you enough to do the things that pleased you, however crazy they may have sometimes seemed. In addition, a title says that you loved your dog. That you loved to spend time with her/him because she/he was a good dog and that you believed in her/him enough to give her/him yet another chance when she/he failed and in the end your faith was justified.

A title proves that your dog inspired you to that special relationship enjoyed by so few, that in a world of disposable creatures, this dog with a title was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return. And when that dear short life is over, the title remains as a memorial of the

finest kind, the best you can give to a deserving friend. Volumes of praise in one small set of initials after the name. An obedience, agility, flyball, herding, protection, etc. title is nothing less than true love and respect, given and received and recorded permanently.

ONLY THE BEST AND NOTHING LESS!!

A good Presa breeder (courtesy of Genevieve)...

1. Breeds dogs that are titled in conformation, obedience
AND working events.
2. Health tests (at LEAST hips) ALL of their breeding
stock.
3. NEVER causes negative publicity for the breed.
4. NEVER has a dog land in a shelter or rescue (EVER)
5. Understands that not every dog should be bred
6. Understands that there are VERY FEW people that should
own this breed
7. Is active in the breed (goes to shows/ working events,
helps out with rescue, shows the breed to the public
in a positive manner, educates people about the true
nature of the Presa)
8. Breeds ONLY to IMPROVE the breed, not just to produce
more puppies
9. Breeds with specific goals in mind, not just the
production of more dogs
10. Screens all homes for puppies with the utmost care
11. Is prepared to lose their dog during gestation,
whelping or after
12. Is prepared to drop 3K if they need to if the bitch
has a dystocia at 2 am
13. Has the space, time and money to keep every pup in the
litter if they can't find appropriate homes for them
14. Is ready to get up every 2 hours around the clock if
the bitch doesn't produce milk or rejects the puppies
15. Has studied the breed long enough to understand how to
pick appropriate matches for the sire/ dam of the
litter
16. Understands that the above means that most likely the
best match won't be in their yard and may mean
traveling miles with a bitch in heat or having semen
shipped in
17. Knows the various lines of the breed, what they tend
to throw conformationally, what health problems are
present and what the temperament is
18. Knows how to evaluate puppies so that they are placed
in homes that fit well with their temperaments
19. Can put the time into working with a litter of pups so
that they have an excellent foundation and
socialization by the time they go to their new homes.
